EDY KEELER

Founder of Interior Design Firm Core Value Inc.

Vivid shades of nature, enticing but enduring, are Keeler's hallmark. Hues and materials specified assure contrasts of light with dark, sleek with soft, excitement with calm—a nourishing environment for living well.

Keeler's unique palettes of stucco, plaster, wood stains, tile, stone, lighting, carpet and textiles have created homes recognized with awards: The Santa Fean's "Home of the Year", Haciendas "Grand Hacienda" winner and "Best Surfaces & Finishes", with architect Robert Zachry and Hurlocker Homes for several years partly due to imaginative re-purposing of basic materials, and re-spinning the traditional Southwest color wheel.

She has been involved in specifying colors, materials, finishes and textiles in contemporary Southwest design projects since l986. Keeler has owned design businesses in four industries: clothing manufacturing; children's book production; architectural building materials and furniture. Her 1980's showroom, SPECS, was instrumental in launching low-voltage lighting to the territory, as well as synthetic resin plaster, now a standard exterior finish.

Her love for and affinity with materials of all kinds—and development of new materials applications—a knack for color, and a unique blend of industry experiences has given new life to numerous projects in Santa Fe.

What inspires?

Client personalities, their needs, desires, and tastes come first; encouraged with Keeler's spectrum, designs, and philosophy to get the best outcome for their lives and styles. The combination generates highly livable environments with unexpected backdrops for art, specialty lighting, and furnishings.

Community

Keeler is interested in fostering communities of mutual interest, and is a producer of the original Santa Fe Design Week, creating dialogue, special events, and trainings between a wide range of design constituencies.

Her friendship with Jeff Harnar and her support of contemporary architects is the impetus for her working to help establish the Jeff Harnar Award for Contemporary Architecture in his memory.
